After a security breach at the document-leaking organization WikiLeaks, 2.5 million “unredacted” secret documents are out on the Web. WikiLeaks places the blame squarely on the Guardian, one of several news organizations with which WikiLeaks has shared the top-secret information it’s obtained from leaks at various governments and corporations. Just six months after unveiling a 25-point plan to overhaul the government’s IT management system, White House Chief Information Officer Vivek Kundra is calling it quits. The first ever CIO for the federal government leaves to hold a joint fellowship at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and the Berkman Center for Internet and Society.
