Tumblr Poised to Pass WordPress

Popular blogging platform WordPress is quickly closing in on the 20 million hosted blogs mark, but the company shouldn’t celebrate just yet. One of its prime competitors, New York-based social blogging platform Tumblr, is closing in on WordPress with 18.4 million total hosted blogs of its own. Tumblr Blog Goes Viral and Helps Catch a MacBook Thief

This story was too good for it not to be one of my five blogs for today. So basically, Joshua Kaufman’s laptop was stolen in San Francisco back in March. He reported it to the police and they did nothing because, let’s be honest, as awesome as Josh’s laptop is, they probably had more important things to do. But this thief stole the wrong laptop. Kaufman had a piece of software on it called Hidden that allowed him to take pictures with his webcam from a third-party location. Meet Jason Pollock

The first time I met Jason Pollock was NOT on Twitter. We met in person because he was a panelist at Inc.’s GrowCo conference in Las Vegas earlier this year. The irony is that Pollock is known for being one of the most influential people on Twitter. I was fascinated to actually meet someone in person that is better known for his online interactions than in-person networking.
