The growth of Google+ may be slowing. Web tracking firm Experian Hitwise has reported that total visits to Google’s new social network fell about 3 percent to 1.79 million in the U.S. for the week ending July 23 compared to the week before when visits had risen 283 percent. People also spent less time at Google+ last week, with the average amount declining 10 percent to 5 minutes and 15 seconds. READ MORE
First-class travelers on American Airlines now have yet another reason to feel even more special. According to Mashable’s Todd Wasserman, the airline is selectively scrapping its current entertainment system and replacing it with the Wi-Fi-enabled tablets. While it’s true Groupon copycats have been popping up all over the place, AT&T and a novel start-up called thruSocial are the newest players to throw down with the online coupon giant. According to Mashable‘s Todd Wasserman, AT&T is preregistering coupon lovers in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Dallas-Fort Worth for a service that will send daily deals to consumers via its yp.com.
