Reinventing the Board Meeting for Start-ups

Forget partying like it’s 1999. Today’s start-up board meetings are run like it’s 1909, says ReadWriteWeb’s Steve Blank. Radically changing how these meetings are organized, he says, may offer companies the opportunity to “attract experienced advice and investment outside of technology clusters.” In other words the current structure needs to be reinvented to reflect the realities of the start-up space. Commerce Start-ups Launch During TechCrunch’s Disrupt Battlefield

Monday through Wednesday in New York City TechCrunch is holding its Disrupt Battlefield competition in which hopeful founders and entrepreneurs submit their young, unseen start-up companies for the opportunity to try winning the $50,000 prize while launching in front of an all-star panel made up of innovators, angel investors, venture capitalists and tech influencers.  Monday featured three Battlefields: Disrupting Commerce, Disrupting Location and Disrupting Search and Discovery.
