Washington Post’s Job Section Hacked, Exposing 1.6 million Usernames, E-mails

The Washington Post announced Wednesday that its online jobs section was hacked during two brief episodes June 27 and 28, exposing about 1.3 million user IDs and e-mail addresses to whomever was behind the attack. Post spokeswoman Kris Coratti said, ““We wanted to make sure that we had a complete understanding as to what had happened and the potential consequences so that we could provide our customers with information that was as accurate and helpful as possible,” Coratti said when asked about the delay in reporting the incidents.
