Move over, CityVille, there’s a new game in town. Make that a slew of new games. Zynga, creator of popular social games on Facebook, is adding a pack of new products to its line-up. In addition to the just-announced CastleVille, the company has also developed Hidden Chronicles, Zynga Casino, and Project Z, its independent gaming network. READ MORE

The virtual goods market has given Facebook a boost in revenue. According the market research firm eMarketer, Facebook Credits, the social networks internal payment system for virtual goods, has raked in $470 million for the company. Agincourt Gaming, a Plano, Texas-based company and relative newcomer to the social gaming sector, has sued Zynga, the world’s largest social gaming company for patent infringement. Agincourt seeks compensation for damages and requests a permanent injunction against the company, which could shut down Zynga’s games on Facebook, including FarmVille, Mafia Wars, and Empires & Allies.
