Some weeks you just can’t catch a break. Apple took a lot of heat for ignoring the growing numbers of Mac owners who’ve been sucked in by the MacDefender scareware (which promises to clean your computer of nasty viruses but instead installs information to steal your credit card numbers). Finally, in a rare admission of its systems’ vulnerability, Apple officially acknowledged the threat on Wednesday and offered a knowledge base article on how to remove it.
