The MIT Media Lab, arguably the nation’s most prestigious technology incubator, will be run by Joichi “Joi” Ito, the well-known Japanese-born entrepreneur and investor. Among other credentials, Ito in the 1990s founded Japan’s first Internet service provider as well as the country’s first search engine.
