You’d think if there was any company in the world with enough on its plate this week, that company would be Apple. Nonetheless, techies there found the time to release a firmware update to the iMac. Apple Launches Mac OS X Lion Thumb Drive

Until today Apple’s Mac OS X Lion was available only as a 4GB download or through a Wi-Fi connection at an Apple Store–two options that kept the cat in the bag for people not near a major mall, or those with slower Internet connections or capped bandwidth. Apple Offers $999 iMac Only to Schools

Apple released a new 21.5-inch iMac specifically designed for educational institutions Monday. The new model costs $999, or about $200 less than the other iMac models. The new education-only iMac has a few fewer features than regular models, such as Apple’s new Thunderbolt port. It runs on OS X Lion and comes with an Intel Dual-Core i3 processor, a 250-GB harddrive and 2 GB of RAM. READ MORE »
