
AT&T might want to consider adjusting its $39 billion offering price for the proposed T-Mobile takeover. While the proposed merger gets dissected under a Justice Department microscope, customers are quickly abandoning the T-Mobile ship. According to a recent company report, 186,000 contract customers left in the third quarter of this year.
As customers have fled, the company’s revenues have declined—from $4.71 billion in the third quarter of last year to $4.67 billion in the third quarter of this year.
Interestingly, however, T-Mobile has seen an uptake in smart phone customers. The firm now has 10.1 million smart phone customers on its network, a 40 percent increase from the same period last year.
The questions remain, however: Where did all those customers go? And is the Justice Department’s case affecting customers?
