
Despite a recent hiccup, Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant, is helping to open up a whole new world in mobile payments. Social payments start-up Venmo is taking full advantage of Siri’s capabilities with say-to-pay functionality.
Originally designed to pay friends via text message, Venmo’s integration of Siri’s voice features means users can take advantage of the application’s ability to send text messages. Venmo’s Siri integration lets users send voice commands to pay bills while on the go. And it’s easy to use: Siri drafts a message, the user reviews and sends it, and gets a confirmation message that the payment has been sent.
