Delicious Buys Competitor After Criticism

Trunk.ly's fault-finding appears to have paid off for its founders.

When Delicious decided to get a makeover, the online criticism was swift and cutting. Australian start-up Trunk.ly might have been the most vocal in it’s fault-finding—and it seems to have paid off. Delicious’ parent company AVOS has announced that it is buying the company.

The Australian duo, who founded Trunk.ly a year ago, made a blog post that criticized the Delicious revamp, citing the problems of manual bookmarking and lack of a “solid social search.” Apparently, these days, criticism is the sincerest form of flattery.

The two will join AVOS and concentrate their efforts on building Delicious; Trunk.ly will be shut down in the next two months.
