BestVendor Shows You Which Apps Your Peers Use

If you consider yourself an early adopter of business apps (or if you want to be), you might give BestVendor a look. It just launched in beta as a free social directory that will show you applications and Web tools other businesspeople recommend.
To sign up, you need to share three of your favorite work apps at www.bestvendor.com [1] and sign in using your LinkedIn account information. In turn, you’ll get app recommendations personalized for the type of work you do. You can find the most popular work apps for specific needs, from accounting to Web design to HR. And you can filter search results to see recommended apps from only your LinkedIn connections or even people who work for specific companies (a competitor, perhaps?).
Because I’m the productive networking type, I snooped around in areas for social media as well as productivity and found sites like Wunderlist, which I could use on my phone or regular Web browser to make to-do lists, set up notifications for tasks or create a list directly from e-mail. I also found Buffer, which I could use to sit down once a day and bang out a bunch of tweets but schedule them to be sent out consistently throughout the day. People are also recommending FileZilla, a free open source FTP tool, plus many other interesting and potentially useful ones.
Try it yourself at BestVendor.com [2]. It’s free!
