Sony Files Patent for Biometric Controller

Now that Microsoft’s Kinect has become part of the gaming experience, what’s next? If a recent Sony [1] patent application is any indication, we could have biometric controllers in the next three to five years, says TG Daily’s Trent Nouveau.
Sony’s recent filing describes a device that would be able to measure electro-cardio data, electro-muscular information, and galvanic skin resistance. This means that during game play, for example, the device would monitor a user’s heart rhythm, muscle movements, and even skin moisture. This could lead to a more engaging, immersive user experience for gaming and other virtual play, says Nouveau.
