A regular whiteboard seems pretty old fashioned considering everybody seems to be using online collaboration through platforms like Box.net, not to mention the digital whiteboards we’ve been hearing about [1] for a while now.
Now there’s another high tech whiteboard solution to add to the growing list of products simplifying teamwork between geographically diverse parties.
Calling it “the first integrated video collaboration whiteboard technology of its kind,”
[2] Polycom says its UC Board is different from others already on the market because of its ease of use. The UC Board solution includes a compact infrared sensor that attaches to a whiteboard or LCD screen, along with a wireless stylus that meeting hosts can use to write and sketch with just like any regular pen or marker.
As ZDNet points out, there is a catch. To use it, you’ll need to have a Polycom HDX series [3] video communications system already set up. At that point, it should be relatively simple to use since it’s being touted as a USB plug-and-play configuration.
The Polycom UC Board solution starts at $1,999.
