Google will be making changes to both Gmail and its Reader news and Web aggregation tool.
A leaked YouTube video shows off the new Gmail interface, which is designed to be cleaner, simpler, and more intuitive. One of the biggest changes is that the Gmail window will automatically adapt to whatever size the user chooses.
“Oops, you weren’t supposed to see that,” Google representative Andrea Freund told CNET. “Stay tuned, we’ll be sharing more info on Gmail’s new look soon.”
As for the changes coming to Reader, within the next week Google will introduce a new design as well as bring Reader and Google+ closer together, so people can share their feeds with circles. Many of Reader’s social features will be available via Google+, so Google will be retiring things like friending, following and shared link blogs inside of Reader.
