New YouTube Channels Rumored That Would Compete With TV

If rumors prove true, YouTube hopes to compete with TV networks for advertising dollars by creating 25 channels of professionally produced content.

As if the online video space wasn’t crowded enough already, YouTube might soon add 25 channels of all-original content, hoping to compete with the major television networks.It’s currently little more than rumors, but if they prove correct, it will cost YouTube $150 million to fund the product. Companies like Warner Bros., BermanBraun, and FremantleMedia are supposed partners. The project could go live in early 2012.
