With Improved Security Software, Motorola Bring Droids to Businesses

Hoping to lure businesses away from the standard office-issued BlackBerry [1], Motorola [2] is working toward improving its security and protection software.

The cell-phone company released new software Monday that boosts the security and simplifies the management of employee’s Android mobile phones. It gives businesses greater control over Droid appsĀ  and provides employees remote access to company services.

The innovation comes from a company, 3LM [3], that Motorola bought earlier this year. “We’re enabling this win-win scenario for IT departments, so that consumers have the freedom and flexibility to utilize their devices to their full potential,” said 3LM CEO Tom Moss, who founded the company last year and previously worked on Android-technology at Google.
