Color ^[1] CEO Bill Nguyen has re-launched the innovative but poorly implemented social discovery app as a Facebook app for Android and iPhone. Color for Facebook is the second go for the company, a $41-million-funded start-up that faltered out of the gate.

Nguyen says Color has been re-engineered around Facebook, using structures and language that users are familiar with, while bringing the best of Color’s proximity technology to the social networking site.

And while Color is getting a second chance, it also has the potential to change Facebook in significant ways. In particular, Color gives Facebook users, all 750 million, a chance to see what their friends are seeing in real time, thanks to the “Visit” feature. Simply send a request to your friend, the friend accepts, and you get a live view of the location as your friend sees it. For now, this feature is sans audio.

Who says you never get a second chance to make a (colorful) first impression?
