With those 14 words, spoken at an appearance in South Africa, putative Internet inventor and Apple board member Al Gore may have confirmed that Apple will be releasing multiple new iPhones in October. Of course, it’s no secret that the iPhone 5 is coming soon. And he may simply have meant that Apple would be releasing however many millions of the new phone. Or that it will come in more than one color.
But TheNextWeb doesn’t think so. Instead, the site points to rumors that two new phones are indeed on their way: the iPhone 5, and a cheaper version of the iPhone 4. Meanwhile, All Things D has reported that the next big Apple announcement date will be October 4. All we can say is: Stay tuned.
