Why Klout Is Adding Google+

Do you use Google+? Do those in your circles “influence” you the way your Facebook friends and the Twitter member you follow do? Joe Fernandez, CEO of Klout [1], is betting that the answer is yes, or will be very soon. Klout, which provides a score intended to measure the influence of all social media users, has added Google+ and +1s to its scoring algorithms.
In an interview [2] with TheNextWeb, Fernandez explains why. “We see amazing engagement on Google+ around +1s and comments,” he says, adding: “The depth of the conversation threads are a testament to the power of the platform.”
Besides, he notes, people who spend less time on Twitter and Facebook due to increased G+ usage were seeing their Klout scores suffer. This move fixes that.
