If you’ve ever wanted to edit video that you’ve shot but either haven’t had the time or the ability to do it, there’s a fun new automated service that just launched. Magisto is an Israel-based start-up that will take your unedited footage, run it through its sophisticated computer vision technology to pick out the best scenes, stabilize your images, remove excess “noise” and add smart effects and transitions that interact with the content in the video.
All you have to do is upload a few minutes of footage. When the video is ready, you can post it on Facebook, Twitter or YouTube or send it to anyone on e-mail.
You can upload up to 16 video files, add a title and soundtrack and then just wait for an e-mail to notify you that your edited video is ready to be shared. While Magisto is not for artistic, detail-oriented types, it works well for regular people who don’t want to use complicated and time consuming video editing software.
Along with its launch this week, Magisto announced it has raised $5.5 million in a Series B round of financing.
