Instagram ^[1] has released Version 2.0 of its popular mobile photo app, with clear designs on longevity. The company will soon hit the 10-million-user mark, and this new release features some cool new features that will keep Instagram users happy.

For starters, Instagram 2.0 has a different look. The settings buttons have been upgraded by more robust controls and have moved to the top of the screen. Additionally, Instagram has focused on re-engineering the camera, says TechCrunch’s MG Siegler. What does this mean for users? For one, there are now real-time camera filters, so users can see what an image looks like before they take a photo. Additionally, a water-drop icon lets you tilt-shift in real time.

The best way to appreciate the new version, though, is to give it a try. There’s just one hitch: There’s still no Android app.
