Amazon ^[1] has recently unveiled a plan that could shift the daily deals market. AmazonLocal will be placing local deal promotions onto wi-fi and 3G Kindles with Special Offers as part of overall digital ads strategy on these devices.

AmazonLocal is currently available in just a handful of state, but that will likely change. Kindle users can reserve deals directly on their e-book readers—and vouchers appear onscreen so that merchants can easily redeem them.

The big question, though, is how users will feel about the addition of local ads into their already ad-saturated lives—and overcrowded in-boxes. One option for users is to simply turn off the email alerts, but that poses its own set of problems, too.
