Intel Not Interested in HP’s PC Unit

Intel [1] is holding to the idea of staying in your lane. The company recently debunked a persistent rumor that it may buy Hewlett-Packard’s recently spun-off PC unit.
Does Intel want to buy HP’s PC unit? Issuing a terse, “No thanks” to a reporter’s query during a Q&A session at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco, CEO Paul Otellini, later elaborated: “We’re happy where we are.”
In a bit of a surprise to some, HP recently announced it would essentially leave the PC and personal systems business to focus on its software and services business. And Intel, likewise, will focus on its core competency: chips.
