The book publishers courted by Amazon are uncertain about the proposal, fearing the library would devalue the books’ worth. “What it would do is downgrade the value of the book business,” a publishing executive said. Amazon has already offered a substantial fee to the publishers for joining its e-library. Further news of the e-library may come when Amazon tells us officially about its tablet.
