
Weekly visits to Google+ may have skyrocketed to nearly 2 million in early July, but over the last few weeks activity on the social networking site has diminished.
Visits peaked at 1.8 million for the week ending in July 16, according to data from Experian Hitwise, an online competitive intelligence service, and have fallen during August to 1.16 million last week. Experian Hitwise’s data only takes into account direct visits and does not include visits by phones, apps, or the Google+ notification bar.
Google+ had very strong traffic just after it was released, with 1 million visits a day, but traffic began to wane as early as July, according to some surveys.
