You’d think if there was any company in the world with enough on its plate this week, that company would be Apple. Nonetheless, techies there found the time to release a firmware update to the iMac. It appears some iMac users running OS X Lion had an issue where their screens would occasionally hang up, and apparently this phenomenon is somehow caused by the machines’ graphics chip.

The new firmware fixes that. It won’t work with all iMacs, not even some newer models, but you might as well give it a try. The software will tell you if your machine is not compatible with the update.
