Ticketmaster is adding new features to make its seating charts even more interactive by allowing users to see where their Facebook friends are sitting.

The upgraded seating charts allow Facebook users to tag themselves in their seats. Users can then view a special seating map that highlights where their friends have been tagged with Facebook flags.

Ticketmaster now has more than 9,000 events on its sites with the enhanced chart, and the site has gotten positive feedback so far, according to Ticketmaster’s blog.

“One thing jumped out early on: people were buying tickets they would not have otherwise purchased because they could select seats near where friends or family were already sitting,” Kip Levin, executive vice president of ecommerce wrote on the blog. “Which got us thinking, that must take a fair amount of coordination — how can we make it easier?”
