WORKetc Makes Gmail Work Harder

The CRM software features a Google Apps Gmail Gadget that lets you turn any e-mail into a sales lead, a new support case, or an update to a project.

Customer relationship management (CRM) software, in case you’re not using it, can help you find new clients and keep the ones you already have by automating business processes involved in functions such as sales, marketing and customer support. While there are scads of CRM solutions on the market, WORKetc is one that recently caught my eye.

WORKetc lets you actually get work done inside e-mail–an appealing concept considering that, for me, dealing with my inbox every day is a huge time suck. With WORKetc, however, you can install a Google Apps Gmail Gadget that can turn any e-mail into a sales lead, a new support case, or an update to a project.

So let’s say I had a writing business (eh hem) and I was working on a project called “Big Research Project” and my client e-mailed me a review of a draft report.  The WORKetc Gmail gadget loads into the bottom of my Gmail and automatically shows my recent work history with my client and gives me the option to create a number of new activities from that e-mail.  For example, without leaving Gmail I could create a deadline reminder, record a timesheet entry, update a project and a range of other activities.

Here’s an example:

You can try WORKetc free for 14 days. After that it starts at $39 a month per user. For more information, visit WORKetc.

The introduction of the gmail widget definitely makes it easy (enjoyable) to process incoming content into various items (cases, leads, tasks, etc). What this article does not outline or emphasize is the fact that the Gmail features are just a tip of what one can do within the main application. It would have provided an even clearer idea of the power, features, and sheer agility to manage customer relationships end-to-end by providing an outline of how the gadget relates to the many other powerful features available in the main application or in further integration with de-facto leading applications such as Evernote, and Google Apps.

All in all, this articles does a good job in explaining the functionality and benefits of the WorkEtc Google gadget.

    Thank you for this Christina!

We have been looking for something along these lines for quite some time. There are ‘Gmail CRMs’ out there, but we were still required to deal with additional integrations to cover everything else we manage; projects, timetracking, billing, etc.

WORKetc is one of the few small business solutions that actually integrates CRM into projects and projects into billing (and vice versa) as one collaborative platform, the fact that we get in depth functionality from Gmail was merely icing on the cake.

    Cheers!
