Designs for Grand Central Apple Store Revealed

New York City’s Grand Central Terminal, one of the largest train stations in the world, and also one of the busiest, is about to get even busier. The city’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority released renderings of a new Apple Store this week, which will open in Grand Central Terminal “soon.”
Apple execs originally tried to block the MTA from going public with images of the new store—in fact, MTA officials were completely prohibited from commenting on Apple’s courtship attempts to become Grand Central’s newest renter—but now that construction has officially begun at the station, Apple decided to relent.
There are still some major questions about new Apple Store, which will span two floors in the terminal, especially concerning crowd control. For instance, when Apple releases new products, lines can sometimes stretch several city blocks long. This, combined with the fact that Grand Central is consistently the busiest terminal in New York, means MTA will really have its hands full.
