Five Possible Reactions to Google-Motorola Merger

No question: Google’s acquisition of Motorola [1] will shake up the mobile landscape. But what exactly will the post-shakeup landscape look like? CNET‘s Marguerite Reardon has come up with five possible scenarios [2], some of them pretty interesting, as to how the rest of the market might respond.

Among the possibilities:

  • Samsung and HTC release Windows 7 devices to lessen their dependence on Android;
  • Amazon scraps plans to build an Android tablet and turns to WebOS instead;
  • Sony-Ericsson is forced by investors to sell its patents.
