LinkedIn Revamps Its Mobile Apps

While you were sleeping last night, LinkedIn ‘s mobile apps for iPhone and Android received a complete and utter overhaul. The new redesign released to the public today, “LinkedIn 4.0,” now looks much less like Facebook’s mobile app—which is a good thing—and puts a new emphasis on speed, simplicity, and LinkedIn Groups.
In the previous version of the app, LinkedIn’s homepage, like Facebook’s, was a set of nine buttons sans labels that performed various core functions of the site; now, navigation is simplified with only four buttons, which link to updates, your profile, your inbox, and your groups and other connections. The newest addition to the app and the most-requested feature, Groups, allows users to access groups, browse and contribute to discussions, as well as post discussions on different groups.
However, despite the new looks and interface, the biggest change is still the speed. Surfing from the news feed to user profiles to user information is quick and seamless; LinkedIn reports that its mobile apps are now 10 times faster, which makes searching and checking out updates much easier to do.
How do you like the new upgrade? Let us know in the comments section below.
