Sony ^[1] and LG Electronics ^[2] have resolved several patent disputes that spanned smartphones, TVs, and Blu-ray ^[3] technology.

The companies announced Thursday ^[4] that they agreed to drop patent lawsuits against each other, and LG announced that it signed a cross-licensing deal. The two companies have been in dispute over many products in the U.S. and Europe after they didn’t renew a technology sharing agreement three years ago.

Sony filed a complaint to block LG’s Rumor Touch and other smartphones in the U.S., while LG said Sony’s PlayStation 3 infringed on its Blu-ray technology.
