In case you’re not convinced that social networking is something to bring to your business, consider these stats. Since launching about three weeks ago, 18 million people ^[1] are already using Google+ and it’s mobile version is now the top free app ^[2] downloaded from the Apple App Store. An average of 10,000 new Web sites integrate with Facebook ^[3] every day. More than 2,200 new Tweets ^[4] are generated on Twitter every second. And LinkedIn ^[5] boasts about 100 million users.

Socialize is a start-up capitalizing on the fact that the social networking trend isn’t going away. The company just launched a software development kit (SDK) that will allow mobile app developers to add an in-app social networking layer to both new and existing mobile apps. The open source SDK can be implemented in a number of different ways, according to the needs of the developer.

For app users, Socialize-layered apps will enable social discovery and connection, and all in-app content can be easily shared via Facebook, Twitter, and e-mail. Developers, for their part, will be able to track a user’s “likes,” shares, and comments.
