Newsbeat Pumps Up Publisher Analytics
Posted By Lauren Hockenson On August 3, 2011 @ 8:20 am In Internet and Online Business,Web Analytics | 1 Comment
Real-time analytics aggregator Chartbeat [1] is now joined by it’s publisher-oriented sister application, Newsbeat. Building upon Chartbeat’s real-time representation of traffic on any given website, Newsbeat breaks down analytics by article and allows news outlets to see which posts are doing well or about to go viral.
The detailed graph of traffic that dominates the Chartbeat dashboard is now color-coordinated within Newsbeat. All incoming clicks from social media sharing services (Facebook, Twitter, and e-mails) will be coded in purple and site referrals, organic searches and direct access will all be in different colors alongside it. Newsbeat also identifies when a story is popular, tracking how many users are on it at a given time and the potential for the story to go viral.
In addition to general numbers, Newsbeat offers a way to specify posts by a given author or section, and displays how those articles are doing with different kinds of readers. It has full integration with Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn to provide up-to-date feed rates.
The service starts at $199 per month, and is already adopted by news sources like Al Jazeera, Gawker Media, and Fast Company (Full disclosure, we use it at Inc as well).
