TaskRabbit, the on-demand courier and chore service that matches needy urbanites with vetted and background-checked “TaskRabbits,” has now unveiled an iPhone app. Previously only accessible from a browser or mobile site, the app allows users to quickly and efficiently posts chores such as picking up dry-cleaning, making a grocery run, or washing a car, while naming their own price and adding careful details.
The service, which boasts 100 couriers in five major metro areas, includes voice notes and the ability to take pictures of a credit card as payment in the mobile app. It also uses the phone’s GPS to coordinate pick-up and drop-off areas for goods, showing an accurate real-time image of where on-task couriers are in relation to the user’s location.
The company has already successfully manages a monthly average of 3,000 tasks, with a price average of $30 per chore. The company is also in the process of building service in its most recently expanded arena: New York City.
