Mobile data use is on the rise—up 77 percent in just half a year. Twenty-two percent of that came from YouTube [1], making it the most popular mobile Internet destination, according to a new report released this week by Allot Communications [2].

According to Mobile Trends Report [3], video streaming grew 93 percent during that time to become the biggest application using bandwidth. Video streaming makes up 39 percent of mobile bandwidth, while file-sharing and web browsing made up 29 percent each.

The report also found that Twitter [4] use nearly tripled, and Facebook [5] use rose more than one and a half times.
