Start-up hiring social network TopProspect released an infographic reflecting an analysis of new companies born out of employment at an online heavy-hitter. Based on the last five years, the four major giants have spawned nearly 50 start-ups, who have in turn raised nearly $700 million in funding.

Google has the most successful start-up spin-offs, with 13 founders garnering $309 million in funding. The company has also birthed some of the biggest success stories, including FourSquare and the much-hyped Color. Microsoft has spun-off 14 start-up founders, more than Google, but those companies have only managed to garner a little more thanĀ  half of the funding directed at start-ups with the Google pedigree. Yahoo has created the most founders at 15, but none of the start-ups have managed to crack the $20 million mark in funding. Facebook hasn’t produced many spin-off founders, but big names like Quora and TrialPay are expected to take off.
