Streamzoo Photo Sharing App Has Instagram in Its Sights

The company is betting that mobile photo and video sharing will be the next big thing.

How do you know you’re onto a good business idea? Maybe it’s when competitors start streaming in. Streamzoo is the latest app to the crowed photo-sharing ring, with Justin Bieber-favorite, Instagram, set firmly in its sights. And while Streamzoo’s numbers are nowhere near those of Instagram’s nearly seven million, the founders are betting that their app will change things.

Streamzoo lets users get creative with tools such as filters, borders, and tilt shift effects; users can then share and organize photos on Twitter and Facebook. Google+ integration will follow soon.

Currently courting power users to help spread the word, Streamzoo’s numbers are in the low 10,000s, says Venture Beat’s Regina Sinsky. Still, the founders are betting on mobile photos and videos as the next wave: “[It’s] the new 140 character status message, says Manish Vaidya, the company’s vice president of products.
