In a few short months, Google’s social network Google+ will debut enhanced profiles for businesses, complete with analytics and more sophisticated sharing options.
“There will be a product very soon that has businesses’ interests in mind,” says an unnamed Google spokesperson, who spoke exclusively with VentureBeat. “We want to give them the features businesses expect and the features that can improve the sharing experience both for consumers and businesses.”
Currently, the only option for businesses to engage users over Google+ is to create an individual account, but it’s still up to the individual to decide what’s shared and who it’s shared with. Google originally planned for its brand profiles to be ready by the end of the year, but the spokesperson says, “we’ve accelerated. The window is the next few months, and if we get it done sooner, that’s great, too.”
