New Google Site Finds What You Love

But all results come via Google products.

As if it didn’t have enough to do, Google just launched a new search site www.wdyl.com, or What Do You Love? that amalgamates results around topics users are interested in. But only via products that Google would love them to use.

For instance, when I entered the term “Sanskrit” (yes, I’m interested in Sanskrit) I got offers to “Search for Sanskrit nearby” using Google Maps, “Find Books About Sanskrit” on Google Books, and “Translate Sanskrit into 57 languages” with Google Translate (it’s “Sansgrit” in Welsh).

Still, it yielded some interesting stuff, like a Google News item about a town in Nebraska starting its council meetings with Hindu prayers and a Blogger blog with monthly Sanskrit lessons I could follow if only I understood Devanagari script.
