Nearly a year after its original announcement, Cisco ^[1] is finally ready to release its enterprise tablet, the Cisco Cius ^[2], into the world on July 31, according to TechCrunch. The tablet will be sell for about $750 at Verizon and AT&T retailers.

The Cisco Cius takes advantage of Verizon Wireless’s 4G LTE mobile hot spots for voice, virtualization, and bandwidth-intensive video for effective collaboration.

“Mobile applications over intelligent high-speed networks will continue to eliminate barriers in the workplace,” says Mike Smith, vice president for Verizon enterprise communications, network, and mobility sales.

Cisco is primarily marketing its tablet to the retail, health care, and government industries. This is a smart move for Cisco, which will differentiate its tablet from the dozens of other designs floating around in the saturated consumer gadgets market.
