The percent of companies planning to use social networks to recruit job candidates is up, according to a new survey from Jobvite, a California company that makes software to help companies use social networks to recruit.
According to the survey of 800 U.S. human resource staff members and headhunters, nearly 90 percent plan to use social media sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, up from 83 percent last year.
The survey also found that the rise in the percent of hiring managers who recruited through LinkedIn jumped to 86.6 percent from 78.3 percent, while Facebook showed only a slight increase (55.3 percent compared to 54.6).
