Mozilla Labs Launches ‘Web Activities’ Project

How would you like your apps to anticipate your needs? Who wouldn’t, right? Mozilla Labs  has launched what looks to be two promising new features. Currently developer focused, Web Activities lets web applications talk to each other; and an as-yet-unnamed feature simplifies app discovery and download.
A peek at Web Activities shows that the app follows the concept of “web intents,” conceived by Google Developer Advocate Paul Kinlan , notes TechCrunch’s Jason Kincaid. Essentially, Web Activities allows apps to communicate in a “standardized language” without requiring API integration. Mozilla is working with Google’s Chrome team on this project.
The second project will help users discover and download available web apps by displaying a small pop-up notification on the site they are visiting.
