Verizon May Have Halted Motorola Gingerbread Updates

Here’s one from the rumor mill: Gingerbread (Android 2.3) updates supplied by Motorola for its phones have been buggy and led to user complaints including Wi-Fi issues and random reboots. In response, according to unconfirmed reports, Verizon has begun rejecting  these updates from Motorola.
Neither company is making an official comment so far. But CNET’s Scott Webster observes that the regular process of updating seems to have been suspended: For example, a small number of Droid Pro users got a 2.3 upgrade in late May which usually precedes a general roll-out that didn’t happen this time.
