Verizon May Have Halted Motorola Gingerbread Updates

Here’s one from the rumor mill: Gingerbread (Android 2.3) updates supplied by Motorola for its phones have been buggy and led to user complaints including Wi-Fi issues and random reboots. In response, according to unconfirmed reports, Verizon has begun rejecting [1] these updates from Motorola.
Neither company is making an official comment so far. But CNET’s Scott Webster observes that the regular process of updating seems to have been suspended: For example, a small number of Droid Pro users got a 2.3 upgrade in late May which usually precedes a general roll-out that didn’t happen this time.
