Flipboard [1] has released version 1.5 of its popular social newsreading app for the iPad, increasing navigability and increasing the number of available RSS and social feeds for browsing. New partners like The Economist and LinkedIn are also onboard, offering new ways to share relevant stories with peers.

The app now offers an unlimited number of feeds that are optimized for speed, thanks to an external server that manages content. Users can conduct cross-network searches, bounce to Twitter and back, and navigate to new articles through social channels without a wait time.

The partnership with LinkedIn not only includes social media access, but also newsfeeds for 30 individual industries. The application takes advantage of the redesign by placing news right next to a social feed. News is easily shared and distributed through social channels in a sharp native platform.

The overall result of the redesign is a faster, smarter app that keeps users plugged in to virtually any news source at their choosing.  Users can tailor their experience to their preferences, and browse news and social media seamlessly.

Flipboard is free for iPad and is available in the iTunes app store. Read more on Mashable [2].
