Data stackers, rejoice: Cloudera, the startup that develops Apache Hadoop-based data management service, is prepared to release a new an improved version, Cloudera Enterprise 3.5. The new update, which will be available by subscription, not only makes it faster and easier to install and manage large computer clusters that process massive streams of data, but also allows data to be monitored in real time.

Hadoop is the go-to framework for managing computer clusters, and is currently in use by big names like Apple, Amazon, Twitter and Facebook. Cloudera Enterprise 3.5 will allow businesses to manage the entire set of operations of their Hadoop systems from a simple central dashboard and make changes to the cluster without shutting down the whole stack down.

Once everything is up and running, the service provides a deep, real-time view of the systems and consolidates user activities into a simplified graphical view. The result is thorough monitoring of data streams at both a micro and macro level and complete control over data processes. The simple set-up, automated administrative processes, and easy security protocol gives non-technical managers the ability to understand how the cluster is operating and make changes without  catastrophically affecting data streams.

In response to this development, Cloudera raised $25 million in new funding for deployment and further development of the Enterprise service. Cloudera Enterprise 3.5 is available now with consultation.
