In a mere 25 days since its launch, Zynga’s social combat strategy game Empires & Allies has officially surpassed the company’s hit game FarmVille, making it one of the fastest-growing games in history. The game attracted more than 39 million users in this brief time span, compared to FarmVille, which has 38.8 million active users.
Empires & Allies, which can be described as “CityVille meets Risk,” allows users to enlist friends and designate them as friends or enemies. Enemies can attack your island and take over your buildings, and users can extract resources and discover tactics to tip the battle in his or her favor.
Zynga currently has 269 million monthly active users on Facebook, up from 249 million two weeks ago.
