Chinese Tablet-Maker Huawei Moves Into U.S. Market

Huawei, China’s largest mobile manufacture is set to unveil its first entry into the U.S. tablet market. The company will launch the MediaPad, a 7-inch tablet that will run version 3.2 of Google’s Android OS. According to TG Daily’s Mark Raby, devices running the new Android finally have a real shot at taking on Apple in the highly competitive tablet space.

This isn’t Huawei’s (pronounced “wah-way”) first time at the dance, though: the company launched the S7 in Europe and Asia earlier this year, which made just a tiny, 1% dent in the global tablet marketplace. The company’s MediaPad is expected to make a bigger dent in the lucrative U.S. market.  Huawei has not announced a release date or pricing information.
